Are the boards always on UTC? ISTR the old ones seemed to follow the clock changes.

It looks to me as if it has followed the click changes. (Certainly this post is showing the correct time here (UK - BST).

It should show your local time.

We don't really like ultra-long links on the Ship and it's appreciated if they can be made into shorter links with a description of what they are.

However, I personally have never been able to do it by using the hyperlink button (that looks like a little chain at the top of a draft post) and so here is how I do it:

Type [ url = then copy and paste the url address and close square bracket ] without the spaces

Type the word or words I want to describe the link.

    Type [ /url ] without the spaces.

Feel free to practise here .

Is there a way to mark all posts as read?

Yes I think so, when you look at the categories page do you see a white cogwheel to the right of the blue bar with each forum’s name ?

    Yes, seems to work, thanks.

Is it possible to have a feature to optionally turn off automatic draft saving? I think the feature has inserted aborted drafts into my posts more often than it's made itself useful.

Yes!! i spend so much time trying to get rid of drafts

Getting rid of drafts is relatively easy. When you have a draft, it will show under "My Drafts" (under "New Discussions"). You can go there and, on each draft, in the upper right hand corner there is an x. Hit that and you can delete the draft.

However, in direct answer to @KarlLB's question, I do not know of a way to stop the automatic draft saving. I just know how to get rid of them after they have been created.
