    I mean - I've seen it in the sense that I'm aware that it is printed in newspapers, and my eyes have passed over it, but I haven't ever consciously read it. I am aware that a cartoon strip called Peanuts exists, but I couldn't name any of the characters, except that I think it's the one with the dog called Snoopy. And I know the dog is called Snoopy because people have identified his image on shirts etc. If you told me Snoopy was in some different, non-allergen-related cartoon, I wouldn't be enormously surprised.

    I suppose I'm the age that the books started becoming available in the UK when I was about 10 or 11; I took to them like a duck to water, and had quite a collection of them. I also had a t-shirt with Snoopy drawn on it by my (sadly now late) brother-in-law.
