I'd value your prayers please Shipmates.
We leave in just over a week for a visit to eldest Beaky daughter in NZ- I cannot give details but suffice to say that she could really do with support at this time.
There's a lot going on here too and I can feel my anxiety levels rising.
I know that once we start the journey I will probably feel much better (though we're going via Doha which is a somewhat scary prospect) but for now I'm definitely not feeling calm!
Thank you
Also requesting prayers for my daughter, still trying to get her degree, or at least her uni email reinstated so she can see if she has passed. The results were out yesterday, but it seems the only way she can discover if her work was marked and if she has her Masters is via uni email, which in her case has been switched off. Pretty upset yesterday and determined to try to get them to listen to her today, as previous attempts have failed.
Well, they finally put a name to Sammy's malady. Infantile Septic Hip. What I can find online is otherwise known as Infantile Septic Arthritis. Caused by a disease impacting the bone. Prognosis is good if caught in time. Cast for at least another month.
Just a bunch of updates, most of them un-satisfying...
Mr. Lamb's dental insurance is keeping us in suspense, so we don't know whether we're paying 7000 dollars for his desperately needed new bridge, or half of that. He's been eating only soft stuff for about three weeks now (the old one is broken).
We haven't heard anything more about the man who reportedly suicided after being picked up by ICE for deporting. His family is still in limbo, unless they've heard and not told us. I'm still hoping the news was a mistake.
The health department is moving like a snail and has done nothing as far as I know except for confining Mrs. K at home with her TB medications, until she can produce three negative tests. As far as I know, nobody else in the church has been tested yet. The health worker keeps calling me, though I'm not sure why, since she never has any news to give me.
My knee replacement is October 6, thank God. Nervous, but grateful.
Very grateful for all your prayers.
Oh, and J is safely with the Lord--she hung on a week later than expected, and died with her family present.

Hello team. I’ve not posted for some time but I would appreciate some prayer support with a talk I’m giving next week. Months ago, I agreed to be the main speaker at an annual event at diocesan level - a big honour to be asked. While I’m not a stranger to speaking in public, this one is longer and more challenging than previous engagements. I have spent some time in the past months preparing the 45 minute(!) talk but know that it still needs some serious work with only a week to go.
