For @Jabberwocky's LJ, for her loved ones, her family and her friends.
This morning I went downstairs to find the Telemum in mid-prayer. This is quite amazing and something I myself have been praying for for many decades. Please, let it truly last.
Someone has a short-term job they need to fill right away. They did get someone, but they might have something for me as well. So I need to be on top form at 9 tomorrow morning. It would be awesome to have landed a job like this, even a temporary one, before December 1st!
Prayers for C. She has early on-set dementia and things have progressed to such a degree that she now needs to move into care. Prayers for her daughter M who has been caring for her for the last few years and her good friend R who has been such a support to both of them.
Prayers for @Telepath and the Telemum.

I'm hired! It's unusual for universities to hire this fast, but there's so much work to do so quickly that they're figuring something out right now.
I still have to keep up my job search and grant writing till the end of March, while doing this high-pressure short project. But it's a different kind of pressure. Just hope I can pull it all off!
Adding my thanks and praise for TP. Also thanks for my daughter sorting out her belongings so she can start her new life living with her new partner. This means (a) she is much nearer to us, (b) I will be having a new step grandson (c) I have someone sensible to talk to as I seem to get on very well with my new daughter in law, Miss RR's new husband-to-be.
Now I Only need relief from my slowly worsening heart condition and brain injuries.
Today Mrs RR is at a willow wreath-making class. I think it's for Christmas ... but might come in handy for other eventualities.
For @MaryLouise and all on the Western Cape of South Africa.
For DaughterRoger and in thanks for the proximity of family. For @RockyRoger's healing, and for MrsRoger's wreath-making endeavours.
Now something unexpected has happened: I got a phone call this morning offering me the part-time job I mentioned earlier.
And I have no formal offer for the job I accepted yesterday, because it's an unprecedented hiring process, whereby I would have to start as a temp and then go through a recruitment process to be taken on as an employee. I have nothing in writing, apart from an email chain in which it is implicit that I've been offered the post and accepted it, but no confirmation in words of one syllable from them. You can see there are some possible points of failure inherent here. So I wouldn't want to turn down the other job only to have this one fall through.
I've emailed them to ask if they can formalize their offer; no answer yet. Meanwhile, I've emailed the part-time job saying I'll get back to them by COB on Monday with a decision. But I've got nothing in writing from them either!
So I can imagine a worst case where I hear nothing, accept the part-time job at 16:59 on Monday, only to find out that they offered it to someone else! Let us pray that this magnificent failure case does not come to pass.

Jake has passed. π―
May she be welcomed home into the loving arms of God.
May they rest in peace and rise in glory.
For Christopher, who has another diabetic toe infection, with an MRI Friday to make sure itβs not gone into the bone.
For @MaryLouise.
And what @Cheery Gardener and @MrsBeaky said.
For @ChastMastr's Patrick. For Christopher, for healing.
And for Jake, may he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Would you keep the Western Cape of South Africa in your prayers as we battle runaway veld fires in a very hot, dry and windy summer.
Prayers for SA, MaryLouise!!
Holding @MaryLouise and the Western Cape of South Africa in prayer. May the fires quickly be brought under control.
