I like the fact that we don't know anything that Cassandra doesn't.
Once you said it, I realized that's what I love best about this book and the forecasting is what I dislike most about so many novels set in the past.
Recently, I've been afraid to watch the new screen adaptations of, "Little Women," and, "Howards End." The reviews said the screen writers had made them more "relevant."

Ugh!
According to Mrs. Andras, who watched the beginning of it, Little Women was awful anyway!

I gave up on "Howard's End" but I thought "Little Women" was quite good. The worst thing was the way it kaleidoscoped "Good Wives", and some of "Jo's Boys" into the final five minutes or so. (No sequels planned, then...?)
I enjoyed Howard's End and it made me go and reread the book. Apart from making all the houses much grander than they were in the original I didn't think it was bad. I watched the first Little Women, but didn't like it enough to bother with the rest.
I've seen the film of I Capture the Castle with Bill Nighy as Mortmain, and I remember enjoying it, but can't actually remember anything concrete about it.
