  • Look up there, Cap'n! A submarine!
  • Transparency is just a sleight of hand,
A trick of light and colour, smoke and mirrors, coding and pixels,
    No arcane knowledge required
I was going to buzz you for "Repetition", but I'd have been wrong.

  • Invisibility can be rendered visible by highlighting,
A heat of exposure, a metaphor for that of an iron on invisible ink

Creating invisibility by phone takes accurate keystrokes,
But the clarity of highlighting is beyond me.

    This is not haiku.

I was so hoping that the gap was filled with synonyms for noise - to the extent that I've logged on to check and see. Such a disappointment

I clicked on the spot on your post, then realised it was just a dirty mark on my computer screen. Do you all have a mark on your screen? Is this a plot?

I've come to talk with you again

When I was young there were clouds - little fluffy clouds. You don't see them anymore. Maybe you do in the desert.

And @Schroedingers Cat was riffing on an interview of Rickie Lee Jones that was sampled in The Orb’s “Little Fluffy Clouds.”

Meanwhile, I’m an agnostic as to whether this thread exists.

Are you sure you're not an athreadist who merely thinks he's an agnostic?

I did of course get Mousethiefs reference and was continuing it with more people whose grasp on reality was somewhat tenuous.

If this thread does not exist, it will be impossible to close. It will go on for ever, therefore it will exist. But if it did not not exist in the first place, its non-existence would be in dispute, therefore....

But don't all threads go on for ever. And if we don't feed this one, it will continue not to exist, but will gradually shade from our awareness of its non-being.

I'm sure that would sound better in German, but,
    a. I don't speak German, and
    b. That would break one of the rules, except that
    c. If something does not exist, can it break a rule? And
    d. I still think that would sound better in German. But as I don't speak German, even if somebody strings together some long words that sound like German, to me it will sound just as impressive.

To have a thread that does not exist
Is like drinking but you can’t get pissed
    A paradoxical illusion
    That can cause much confusion
And the point is entirely missed

A thread that isn’t really there
A younger man might even be scared
    It’s ghostly displays
    And mysterious ways
May give one cause for despair

But Fear not this ethereal text
    Its non-existence truly is blessed
    Its transparent whimsy
    No matter how flimsy
    Gives one opportunity to reflect

If there is no bodily definition, how, then, can a concept be substantiated as a concept?

But then by its very ‘is ness’ it exists.

    Foiled again!

    Okay...

Something could have a sole characteristic which is a state of non existence. Only by its non existence does it exist.

    But then it exists 🤦‍♂️
