... not to mention There's no-one quite like Grandma by St Winifred's School Choir. :naughty:

Isn't that the one with dear old Bernard Cribbins sitting in a chair while the little girls of the choir gather round him singing sweetly? Shame on you!

I think you're thinking of "Grandad", but it wasn't Bernard Cribbins. It was him out of Dads Army, played Corporal "Don't Panic!" Jones.

Oh yes, Clive Dunn. Thank God it wasn't Arthur Lowe.

I suppose this dross counts as a Christmas song as it’s (apparently) about a New Year party. I’d forgotten all about its existence until I heard it on Radio 2 Pick of the Pops this afternoon. Yes, this was in the charts on this date in 1976

  • @Spike Dear God! That makes I was Kaiser Bill's Batman seem like Mozart.

I agree. That's bad. I think it also must be a strong competitor for the least memorable song of all time. At least the Cat Carol and Grandma are nauseous enough to stick in the memory.

OK. Hell does exist and its name is 1976.

I was 14 in 1976, and I'm delighted to say that Grandma's Party completely passed me by.
