  • I meant to put in the heavenly bits that the intercessory prayers included: "Let us pray for Bartholomew of Constantinople, Francis of Rome, and Justin of Canterbury" as well as mention of the diocesan ordinary. I thought that was an especially heavenly touch.

Sounds a great place to worship Amanda. Nearly 25 years ago we sojourned in San Diego and found a wonderful home at the Cathedral there. Unfortunately the couple who became our close friends are no longer there, so I can't ask if it is still a combination of great liturgy, wonderful music, welcoming and friendly people with a passion for social justice. Do you know? (Is it time for a visit from you, the best of Mystery Worshipper reporters? Hint hint!)

I visited the RC cathedral in San Diego several years ago, but I've never been to the ECUSA cathedral. It's been MWd, though, by others. There's little to draw me to San Diego -- too expensive -- but I do like to visit Oceanside as often as I can. I've MWd most of the churches in Oceanside that I care to visit, but Carlsbad is just down the road and so I thought I'd give them a try.
