  • Another thread derailed to Martin’s broken record.

  • A thread that was inactive for 23 days since poor @Climacus commented.

It would have to have been moving for me to derail it.

    Have you got any substance?
  • Between you and I, Martin, there is a great gulf fixed, which it seems no idea can cross.
  • Tou and me, I mean. Sorry.

However much Job was tormented, he did not give up on God.
Job is a good read but he was not a real character

Regardless, he’s a good model to follow.

I don't think so. He seems to be a poster child for staying in an abusive relationship to me.

Oh, with his wife and his "comforters"? Or do you mean God?

In my conception of Hell, one is on one's own, in the cold and dark, facing a door. On the other side of the door is warmth, light, love, . . . and God. One has only to push the door open and go in - unless one dreads the encounter that will bring full self-knowledge.
    We condemn ourselves to Hell.

Amen. "The dwarfs are for the dwarfs," as the line in The Last Battle goes.

That's OK @Eirenist. We can pity each other. No, no idea is possible. Nothing is as good as Love. And there isn't any. Above us only sky.

On what the thread is actually about?

The idea of oblivion doesn’t bother me in the least, so oblivion.

On that we agree. Getting there is another issue!

Perhaps getting to oblivion takes forever.
