I know I do not follow this thread much. But I want to add an update about my grandson, Samuel. He continues to have physical issues, though this one can be corrected. One of the things the family had noted is Sammy did not kick like a normal baby. He seemed to favor his right leg, Mother and father took him in, and they discovered his right hip was dislocated. There was also what appeared to be a hairline break on his right femur.
This set off a series of events in which they sent him back down to Seattle Childrens once again for a full MRI. Turns out the suspected break on the femur was a false reading. No breaks, but the hip dysplasia was confirmed. Likely happened during birth, though it had been a normal birth.
This means he has to wear a brace for the next six weeks, I think. He hates the brace, but if all goes well no surgery will be needed.
Note to LC. Wow. Concordia got hit? I had not heard of that. I will have to look that up. Glad no one was hurt through. I remember the many trees on the campus. Sorry to hear of the additional stress Mr. LC is going through.
Thank you everybody—Mr Lamb is home and kinda wrecked, as you’d expect. We’re waiting for word on the funeral so we can buy plane tickets. Hoping God spares our parishioner so as not to have grief upon grief—two is enough.
Our old Shipmate Rowen died just a couple of hours ago. We thank God for her life of caring ministry and pray for comfort for all who loved her, especially her siblings, Adrienne, Alison, and Ivor. She touched so many lives for the better 🕯️
Please pray for L, and a lovely and lively lady in our church Mrs RR has been close to. L has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and told us yesterday she was looking forward to 'Going home soon' (3 months?). May she have peace and assurance.
Prayers for all here. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.
Prayers for comfort and relief for the Chopped family; for peace for the RockyRogers' L; and healing for Gramps' Samuel. May I ask your prayers for my friend M, who has had two extensive heart surgeries in as many days.
Well, we've got our travel for the funeral arranged. Went to visit the parishioner in the hospital--nothing was posted on the door, so I walked in, greeted her family, and kissed her on the cheek--and then learned she was there for COVID delirium... Thank God I just had a booster and am at the height of my bug-resisting superpowers!
Me again (sigh). We have a parishioner in the emergency room who has been declining pretty fast recently, but no idea what exactly is going on or if this is um, going to result in a funeral soon... which is doubly problematic because Mr Lamb's sister who lives in CA has had a serious episode which resulted in the doctors saying "a week or two." Mr Lamb is just now away from home on retreat (high stress levels) and called me because he can't figure out what to do. Pray for the two people and for us to know what to do--and be able to afford it, too? Please?

My husband had a brief episode of being unable to get his words out this morning. We're in A&E, where they suspect he had a minor TIA. He seems completely well now, but his blood pressure is far too high, and they won't let him go home till his BP drops.

Been there, done that (several times). Heartfelt sympathy.
We were in the A & E ward from 9am-5pm. The NE Man was by far the healthiest-looking person there, but his blood pressure readings were, and remain, far too high. We were sent home at 5, but have to go back in tomorrow for the carotid doppler scan. He's got a fortnight's medication, but has to see his GP ASAP to discuss ongoing medication.
The hospital were brilliant. I dropped him off at the door of A&E and went to park. By the time I got back he was already being triaged, there was no waiting at all. The doctors and nurses were not only professional, they were exceptionally kind.
Continuing prayers for the NE Man and for you, North Easr Quine.
My friend M, about whom I posted a couple days ago, has had a third surgery. The good news is that they have closed up her chest and plan to take her off total sedation tomorrow. If you can spare a prayer for her, I would be grateful.

Thank you for your prayers for my friend M. Her husband reports that they were able to take her off sedation last night, and she is awake now (after 3 days and 3 surgeries). So it is very good news, but I’m not sure what road lies ahead. If you’re able to include her in your prayers, I’d be grateful.
