Role of women
in Epiphanies
We recently had a thread on the changing role of men in society. In the interest of symmetry, at least, perhaps we should have a thread on the changing role of women.
Has the role of women in society changed in recent times, such as the last 150 years? How has it changed? What has led to such changes?
For myself, I say: yes, the role of women in modern society has changed. I do not feel qualified to list all or even many such changes. I think two influences have been (a) improvements in technology making brute physical strength less important in most people's lives, and (b) the development of reliable chemical means of birth control.
What do you think?
