Which threads do you always go to?

Which do you read first when you click on the Ship?

Any threads you unexpectedly enjoy?

Any you can't help opening even though the subject annoys you?

Do you read some but never comment? Why's that?

If you're in a rush which threads would you never miss?

I go to "Recent Discussions" and see what's new. I skip some threads which I am unlikely to understand as I am American and not British. If I fall far enough behind in a thread, I may give up on it, as I may not want to pause and read a hundred posts.

I tend to go for threads of any kind that give me a non-UK point of view. I live in the UK, I read newspapers that report our news, but I don't always appreciate how the same news is being received in other parts of the world.

I know less than nothing about Baseball but find the thread compelling!

I also enter via recent discussions. I am sure any of us North Americans would be happy to explain baseball. As much as I enjoy watching cricket on TV, I do not know the finer points and obscure rules. This place has given me a lens into the UK and a lesser extent the southern hemisphere. If I wished anything, I wish we had more active North American members although I cherish those who are active.
  • I use ‘recent discussions’ and browse through to see what is there. Every day I visit the quiz thread to access the link! I usually also post on the Wordle thread at some point. But my go to thread is the British thread, so I can find out what my friends are up to. I get a great sense of community from it.

I read most posts on the forum, except some of the long circus or sports threads that don’t interest me. I read virtually everything in purgatory because I am very interested in hearing a variety of opinions, especially in politics. But I usually have little urge to post my own opinions there unless it is something I have a clear interest in, like disability. I find reading other people’s views far more interesting.
I have always been a people watcher and forums offer such a wonderful opportunity to observe characters…
  • The prayer thread, and the RIP thread, if they’ve been updated.

Which threads do you always go to?
I have to read All Saints for hosting, but I would always catch up on the All Saints British thread and the prayer thread; also the book threads in Heaven.

Which do you read first when you click on the Ship?
Everything in Ecclesiantics and Mystery Worshipper - because Hosting.

    Any threads you unexpectedly enjoy?
No. I can usually tell whether I'm going to enjoy them or not.

Any you can't help opening even though the subject annoys you?
There have been occasionally in the past (can't think of any specific examples just now) but nothing current at the moment. I have enough that annoys me in real life without reading annoying stuff here if I don't have to.

Do you read some but never comment? Why's that?
Yes, I read quite a lot of the stuff in Purgatory and Kerygmania but I seldom if ever comment, either because I don't have anything to say or because I don't feel that what I might have to say is worthy or erudite enough.

If you're in a rush which threads would you never miss?
The All Saints British thread and prayer thread.

Which threads do you always go to?
the Gardening thread, the All Saints British thread and the prayer thread; also the Wordle thread as I do it on waking up.

Which do you read first when you click on the Ship?
    it varies

    Any threads you unexpectedly enjoy?
Yes, the Baseball thread. Such interesting names and places!

Any you can't help opening even though the subject annoys you?
    Yes- the trump thread

Do you read some but never comment? Why's that?
Yes, Purg because I'm a bear of little brain. Sometimes I can add personal experience

If you're in a rush which threads would you never miss?
    The All Saints British thread

  • I haven't checked out the All Saints British thread as I fear I may never re-emerge.

As a lifelong baseball fan I find this utterly charming! I think because I became a fan listening to a fine announcer on the radio long before I ever saw a professional game in person.

I read everything that comes up as having new posts on recent discussions (though I don’t have this set up for mystery worshipper) - but I tend to only skim read the stuff I am less interested, in such as the trains thread.

Which threads do I always go to? - All Saints: the prayer and the British thread.
Which do I read even though it annoys me? -The Hell threads: particularly the Trump one and Fucking Guns; because the subjects are awful but important and I am interested in Shipmates perspectives, especially those who are (sadly) more affected by them.
Do I read some but never comment &why is that? -Various subjects in Purgatory as I feel like someone in a university common room, surrounded by far more intelligent/well informed people so I am mostly content to listen. Occasionally I think of something to say but, by the time I get my thoughts in order, the conversation has moved on so I remain silent.
  • I start with Heaven and work my way down. I usually skip Hell as the lesser of "HIM." I can take these days for my own mental health.
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
I start with the Circus, as I'm a host, and to do the Quiz. Then AS, also to do hostly duty and catch up on what everyone's up to.

Eccles for the hymn thread on a Sunday, and Heaven to see what's going on up there.

First- All Saints British thread, prayer thread, Tidy house thread, AS hell thread.

Ecclesiantics, read all but only sometimes comment.
Purgatory but rarely comment for same reasons as Wanderer.
I read some Hell threads when I’m not too busy, even though they annoy me.
Heaven- some, if I have time to spare.
    No Circus.
  • I read the Canadian threads in Purg and All Saints consistently and then everything else somewhat inconsistently. Generally I read threads that I think I might conceivably have something to contribute to, though I read more than I post.
  • South of the equator.

    Wildlife near you

Gardening ( though it's mostly done by LKKspouse)

    Films

    The rare posts in Kerygmania.
  • Like LatchKeyKid, I'm a visitor on South of the Equator and wildlife near you.

Gardening thread - I love reading what people are doing on the other side of the world.

Films, books and streaming, though I don't always post I read the chat.

Sometimes I visit Epiphanie and Purgatory for a quick look, but All Saints and Heaven are more my style.

I don't always post but read the prayer thread and send up an arrow prayer as I go.

I start at Heaven and work down, ending up on the British thread in All Saints, the prayer threads and the RIPs.
I find that political issues are discussed with far more nuance and thoughtfulness than discussions elsewhere on the net, so it's always interesting to see the different points of view here.
I always read the films, books and TV threads, too - and now I have a garden again, I'm reading the gardening thread.
