I read most posts on the forum, except some of the long circus or sports threads that don’t interest me. I read virtually everything in purgatory because I am very interested in hearing a variety of opinions, especially in politics. But I usually have little urge to post my own opinions there unless it is something I have a clear interest in, like disability. I find reading other people’s views far more interesting.
I have always been a people watcher and forums offer such a wonderful opportunity to observe characters…
I have to read All Saints for hosting, but I would always catch up on the All Saints British thread and the prayer thread; also the book threads in Heaven.
Which do you read first when you click on the Ship?
Everything in Ecclesiantics and Mystery Worshipper - because Hosting.
Any threads you unexpectedly enjoy?
No. I can usually tell whether I'm going to enjoy them or not.
Any you can't help opening even though the subject annoys you?
There have been occasionally in the past (can't think of any specific examples just now) but nothing current at the moment. I have enough that annoys me in real life without reading annoying stuff here if I don't have to.
Do you read some but never comment? Why's that?
Yes, I read quite a lot of the stuff in Purgatory and Kerygmania but I seldom if ever comment, either because I don't have anything to say or because I don't feel that what I might have to say is worthy or erudite enough.
If you're in a rush which threads would you never miss?
The All Saints British thread and prayer thread.
the Gardening thread, the All Saints British thread and the prayer thread; also the Wordle thread as I do it on waking up.
Which do you read first when you click on the Ship?
it varies
Any threads you unexpectedly enjoy?
Yes, the Baseball thread. Such interesting names and places!
Any you can't help opening even though the subject annoys you?
Yes- the trump thread
Do you read some but never comment? Why's that?
Yes, Purg because I'm a bear of little brain. Sometimes I can add personal experience
If you're in a rush which threads would you never miss?
The All Saints British thread
As a lifelong baseball fan I find this utterly charming! I think because I became a fan listening to a fine announcer on the radio long before I ever saw a professional game in person.
Which do I read even though it annoys me? -The Hell threads: particularly the Trump one and Fucking Guns; because the subjects are awful but important and I am interested in Shipmates perspectives, especially those who are (sadly) more affected by them.
Do I read some but never comment &why is that? -Various subjects in Purgatory as I feel like someone in a university common room, surrounded by far more intelligent/well informed people so I am mostly content to listen. Occasionally I think of something to say but, by the time I get my thoughts in order, the conversation has moved on so I remain silent.
Eccles for the hymn thread on a Sunday, and Heaven to see what's going on up there.
Ecclesiantics, read all but only sometimes comment.
Purgatory but rarely comment for same reasons as Wanderer.
I read some Hell threads when I’m not too busy, even though they annoy me.
Heaven- some, if I have time to spare.
No Circus.
Wildlife near you
Gardening ( though it's mostly done by LKKspouse)
Films
The rare posts in Kerygmania.
Gardening thread - I love reading what people are doing on the other side of the world.
Films, books and streaming, though I don't always post I read the chat.
Sometimes I visit Epiphanie and Purgatory for a quick look, but All Saints and Heaven are more my style.
I don't always post but read the prayer thread and send up an arrow prayer as I go.
I find that political issues are discussed with far more nuance and thoughtfulness than discussions elsewhere on the net, so it's always interesting to see the different points of view here.
I always read the films, books and TV threads, too - and now I have a garden again, I'm reading the gardening thread.
