Well. It's definitely surgery, followed by dive days of hanging over the side of the bed with my face in a thing like a padded toilet seat, while the air bubble they leave inside my eye remains (one hopes) directly over the macular hole, acting like a bandage to it. After five days they say I can get up a bit. I did this back in 2019, was hoping not to have to do it again. No date for surgery yet--he thinks my eyes won't get any worse... thank you for praying for me!

I'm posting this before looking back through the forums, but I can already see that some of you - including but not limited to @Priscilla - prayed that someone would be with me, and indeed a friend did come that day, and it was exactly the right friend. Clearly your prayers are powerful.

I haven't been posting because I've been looking for work since 17 March, when our grant application was rejected.
I am now entering my second month of unemployment. I have had 20 interviews so far, none since my latest contract ended, and none lined up.
I didn't want to come on here and be monomaniacal about my job search again, but so it goes. The pressure is really getting to me and it's doing a number on my mental health.
I spent all of July on four interviews for a recruiter who promised to set up the fifth and last interview, then left me hanging. I went absolutely feral.
Good to see you @Telepath and praying for you, particularly for your job situation.
Praying also for @Lamb Chopped , that surgery will be successful and for patience and forbearance in what sounds like a very difficult recovery process.
@Telepath, I'm so glad to see you posting here. I (and a lot of us) have been worried about you. Hopefully you'll get a new, amazing job really quickly!!
@Lamb Chopped praying that your surgery and keeping the bubble in the right spot will not be horrible. It's amazing what is able to be done with eyes to keep them functioning, but it's not fun. My bubbles were just for detached retinas, so not as serious as yours, and I'll keep yanking on God's sleeve for you.

David’s partner Bob is going into a skilled nursing facility that should make a huge difference in his recovery. Hallelujah!

My eye surgery will be at 8 on Thursday (Central time). This evening we were going out to meet our godkids for dinner and my husband tried to make a left turn onto a major street at sunset with the glare all around--he totaled the car (which was my son's) and has probably messed up our insurance coverage going forward. The silver lining is that nobody seems to have anything more than bruises... but I'd be grateful if you'd pray, as this is likely to be a financial burden, and possibly to raise questions about whether he ought to drive at all anymore.
That is the last thing you need @Lamb Chopped. Good you weren't seriously hurt though.

Prayers for D the new rector of our parish church. His induction service was yesterday and as he was the curate he is well known and liked by both church and town. It's a big church and a big job.
