As I've mentioned before, in Korea I was friends with some moonies(as they joculary called themselves), and while I think there was always a standing invitation to join the fold, they never pushed it, and there was nothing secretive about the way they discussed the religion with me. Even what I would consider to be their weirder and more questionable practices were presented quite openly, though obviously the practices didn't seem weird or questionable to them.
The moonie I knew best once traveled back to the US for a family reunion, but told me they don't really get along. So obviously, her joining the moonies had caused some friction with them, but there was still social contact.
