Metacommentary Nostalgia
Stumbled across someone lamenting the loss of discussion forums, and an interesting description of some of the aspects regarding their contraction in meta-space.

I feel like the intentionally-addictive algorithmic content included in subsequent social media deserved a top spot in their discussion, but maybe that's just me. Also, I managed to resist pointing out on their comments that there's at least one UBB-like discussion forum still active... long enough to realize they didn't have comments on that article. Probably smart.
What is everyone else's perspective on the shifting sands on this online beach? Also, I think this is my second-ever Heaven thread - if you ignore everything I did during the Heaven-Hell War. IYKYK

There were a few online forums that I checked out, but once I found the Ship, I just didn't bother with those other ones. Next month will mark 25 years since I first walked these decks.
The Ship and discussions have changed, but personally I still find myself learning a lot of new things. We have such interesting people here!
