Hello ... I remember Ship Of Fools from many years ago and thought it had disappeared ... so lovely to find it is still online and evolving so well ... looking forward to exploring more and engaging too
If you've been familiar with the Ship in the past, you probably know the way things work around here, but if you have any questions, the FAQ and 10 Commandments pages (links on the homepage) should tell you all you need to know.
I've been reading the Mystery Worshipper reports for awhile. The quality is high and sometimes humorous. I felt the need to meet people behind the mask. Thank you.
Welcome indeed! If you've been reading the MW, you probably have an idea of what's what, but the 10 Commandments and FAQ pages (links on the home page) will tell you all you need to know about how the boards work.
Kind of a reintroduction -- haven't posted here since that wonderful year 2020, but a lot has happened since. (oh really?) Among other things, I finally left the Roman/Byzantine Catholic ship and am now a full-fledged Piscie!
Thanks, everyone! Also, thanks to a couple of guys on FB (Charlie & Huw - won't use their full names in case they prefer to be incognito!) who reminded me I really should be here!
New-ish here. Have popped in a few times over the years, might even have made a profile here once years and years ago but can't remember now.
What prompted me to return (if I was here before) was the "Time-travel news" feature on the main site which I just stumbled across the other day.
Is there a thread dedicated to it? The reason I ask is because (a) it's really great, and (b) there must be a place to discuss it!
Today, for example, I was fascinated to read the story of John Badby. But though the article says he was burned to death today in 1410, I couldn't find anything online to confirm the date. Perhaps someone here might know more?
Welcome You are most welcome to start a thread if you’d like to
Thank you so much! In that case... I shall! Thank you! Can you tell me which forum section it ought to go in? I don't want to start off by making mistakes!
A welcome back from me @Marcus T . Good to have you aboard. You probably remember the 10 commandments for posting on here, but if you need a refresh you'll find them in Styx.
Hello, Everyone. It's been years since I was here -- so long, in fact, that my original account was closed. I've re-registered and mocked-up an avatar similar to the old stock one I'd used before, and I'm glad to be back on board nosing around. Hope all are well.
Welcome back @Riv, glad you've signed up for another voyage. I'm sure you remember all about the Ship's 10 Commandants, but if you need a refresher here's the link.
Hi @The_Riv, we upgraded software in 2018 and couldn't carry accounts across from the previous forums. I had a quick look, and you hadn't posted over there since 2017, so your old account wasn't deliberately closed you just missed reboarding the new forums when we relaunched.
After a while lurking landward, I have decided at last to board the ship and more fully participate in discussions. I pledge to uphold the denary commandments at all times, else suffer the eternal consequences.

Hello, I'm new here. A friend once said of me, "in a field of white sheep you'd be the giraffe". Make of that what you will. I'm coming from a Quaker background although I'm no longer a member of the society, and I'm looking forward to learning a new and rather different spiritual culture.
It seems I got thoroughly lost in the maze of decks, companionways and sheets to be tripped over.
Thank you @Nenya for pointing me in the right direction and helping me towards finding my sea-legs. I'm looking forward to the voyage.
Personally I favour Border Chocolate Gingers, but I never buy biscuits myself as I know I'm liable to scoff the whole packet in one go.

Very wise @Mavis Grind - no Chocolate Chip Cookie is safe if I'm around...

As the last biscuit, probably a bourbon as all the good ones got eaten first.
