American Football Playoffs (college or pro)

Mrs. Gramps and I are living in a divided house if for just a few weeks. In the college playoffs in the northern bracket, she is favoring Indiana Hoosiers while I am favoring the Oregon Ducks. She likes Indiana because she is saying it has been a while since they have been in the rarified air. I am favoring the Ducks because, well, they are the more local team. Mrs. Gramps, though, cannot bring herself to favor the Ducks since they abandoned the Pack 12 for greener pastures.

Anyone want to speak for the other bracket?

On the other hand, we are both in the same bed when it comes to the Seahawks on the pro side of the game. Seahawks all the way!!!

I picked (pretty much at random) the Philadephia Eagles to support in 1985 when my brothers and I became interested in this exotic transatlantic game televised on Channel 4. Randall Cunningham seemed a fun player! I lost interest sometime in the mid 90s but rediscovered the game just in time for the astonishing 2017 campaign.

I will be rather surprised if we repeat this year though. The offense is just too flaky at the moment. The Turquoise Crystal Ball projects a Patriots - Seahawks Super Bowl and I would be delighted for Seattle in general and Sam Darnold in particular for them to win that.

Once Notre Dame got screwed out of the playoffs, I lost any interest.

Eagles were deservedly knocked out by the 49ers but I did feel a pang for Josh Allen and the Bills as their "nearly but not quite" history continued against Denver. I see no reason yet to revise my Patriots - Seahawks prediction after Seattle's crushing win against San Francisco.

The Seahawks beat the 49ers up. It was ugly, but a good ugly from my viewpoint.

Had hoped the Bills could have tamed the Broncos, but no such luck.

Watching the Patriots and Texans now.

    Patriots certainly rode the Texans.

Now it's hoping the Bears will maul the Rams

My Pats are playing a Denver minus their usual starting quarterback.

Well, looks like the Bears got butted out of the playoffs.

In NCAA FB am going with Indiana.

I thought it was the Pats against the Rams. But it is too bad about the quarterback. May the surgery go well and he can return next season.

Pats and Denver are in AFC; Rams and Seattle are in the NFC.

    Not enough coffee this morning.

At least Indiana got the NCAA trophy.
