    As I recall, That's Life was mostly a consumer programme, where people sent in their gripes about duff products or services (the latter disproportionately at the behest of British Gas) interspersed with humorous bits, notably Cyril Fletcher's Odd Odes and a dog who could say "sausages".

    It was indeed a Saturday evening institution, and now I'm feeling old.
