He doesn’t seem to get that the more allies he pisses off, the less access to distant bases he is going to have, the more logistical problems he is going to have.
And also, I think, the real story. All well and good for people to tell pollsters they disapprove of Trump, but it won't amount to much if they turn around and elect another congress full of MAGA Republicans willing to give him a blank cheque.
